Awesome week for Liverpool FC!

We're going to Wembley come Feb 26th for the League Cup Final vs Cardiff City. It was written in the stars that Cardiff-born Bellamy should be the one who sends us through. Now come on and win the damn cup. Stevie hasn't played in a cup final at Wembley (was under renovation when we won the FA Cup in 2006 & League Cup in 2003) so he is all fired up to lift the cup. Come on you REDS!

Got myself a Road To Wembley T-Shirt. Expected to arrive just before the final. Also planning on taking off the following day as I suspect a massive session on the cup final night.

We knocked the scum shits out of the FA Cup. Simply amazing. I'm still smiling. Johnny Evans was at his usual best but was outplayed by the brilliant David De Goyang! Oh and a certain dingbat fucked up a flick on by Carroll to allow Kuyt to send us through. Lovely.

A lesson from Suarez to De Goyang:

... from Wembley. Stevie was EXCELLENT! Welcome back Captain Marvel!

I predicted either a 1 - 0 away win or a draw as I felt we can take any team on at Anfield for a cup competition 2nd leg game. True enough we deservingly won 1 - 0 thanks to a Stevie penalty (3rd goal in 4 games btw) in the 13th minute.

Super Mario was shackled then faked injury to avoid getting sent off and although Aguero was again his impressive self Pepe proved that last week's blunder was just one off. Yes, we played the second half with 6 defenders but it was the result that mattered.

Jan 25th at Anfield - All we need is a scoreless draw to head to Wembley but I have a feeling we will grind out a 1 - 0 / 2 - 0 win. Come on you Reds!!!

On another note, our next 9 games I believe will define our season.

Chelsea 0 Liverpool 2 (League Cup Quarter Finals)! Maxi and Kelly scored during a 5mins spell to beat Chelsea for the third time this year at Stamford Bridge. Begs the question "Can we play Chelsea every week?" LOL

Liverpool's bid to get into a Final for the first time since 2007 is still on track although we have played every round in the League Cup away from home.

Craig Bellamy played with enough passion to take out Barcelona. Coates played like a Cup veteran and Lucas played like a boss!

My MOTM is a toss up between these three but I'd give it to Coates. The 21 year old Uruguayan has shown enough promise to give us hope for the future.

Andy Caroll - 35mil & Torres - 50mil = Both have scored a total of 10 goals since the transfer. What gives?

Off to the Semi's we go. Draw to be made tonight after the Scums vs Palace game. Since it's a two leg semi-final, I don't mind anyone. Bring it.

3 points. First win in Emirates since 11 years ago when Titi Camara scored the winner. Titi who? Oh man.

I think we are still an unfinished item with King Kenny still tweaking the side but we deserved the win nonetheless. My observations:

Kelly should start even if Glen Johnson is back
Carroll needs a kick up his ass and complain less
Suarez should play 90mins of every game
Meireles should start instead of Henderson (or Stevie should start)
We need to buy a center back (Cahill? Dann?)

From a neutral point of view, you got to pity and / or wonder what the heck is Arsenal doing? Cesc - SOLD. Nasri - 80% chance of being SOLD. Eboue - SOLD. Aren't they buying anyone? Come on and bounce back you Gooners. Your next game is against the scums by the way so a win would be nice.

p.s. Why does Alyssa Milano support Inter Milan? Because her surname is similar to Milan?

Football Season is back!!!

Been a while. Perfect timing for work to reduce significantly and for football season to begin.

Liverpool 1 Sunderland 1.

I expected a home win to open our campaign but that was not to be. We played the best first half of all teams that played during the weekend yet had only 1 goal to account for. It could have been 3 or 4 easily.

Firstly, Suarez should have composed himself before taking the penalty OR Adam who normally takes penalties should have taken it. 1-0.

Suarez made amends 7mins later with a header from a Adam's cross. 2-0.

Carroll's disallowed goal should have been a goal as the foul was non-existent. 3-0.

Lastly, maybe i'm pushing it a bit but Downing's run-and-shot which banged the crossbar should have made it 4-0.

Then and there it would have been game over. Steve Bruce and his Man U B squad can start preparing for the next game.

But this is in my dream world. Reality check; Larsson scores an equalizer and points are shared. Flanno is partially to blame but the lad did well the entire game.

Yellow Card count: Carra, Adam, Henderson & Kuyt carded.

Moving forward, Arsenal away at 7.45pm. Would I keep the same squad? No. I'd start Kelly instead of Flanno and Kuyt instead of Hendo.

On paper, Arsenal without Cesc (Barca player now), Gervinho (red-carded) and Samir Nasri (Most likely gone to City) we should win but we have been know to expect a lot from Liverpool.

My prediction. Play like we did in the first half and we'll win. 2-0.

Liverpool's third kit has gone blue. I know our original kit back in the day was white and blue stripes but since Shankley changed it to all Red in 1964 we have never gone back to that so why now?

I blame Standard Chartered. Even Stevie doesn't look happy wearing it.

Then we have Arsenal celebrating their 125 years anniversary by going blue as well? What gives? Nike and adidas got a bulk discount on Blue ink?

But i must add the Chelsea blue kit surely takes the cake. I wouldn't wear that Mr.Kalou but then again you get paid 100,000 quid a week so you'll even wear Borat's clothes.

Where's the Party by Carlsberg!

Two words. Fucking brilliant.

We arrived at Bukit Jalil at 11am to an already building crowd at Car Park B.

We got security checked for sharp objects, explosives and umm.. drugs. I obviously got checked thoroughly due to my 'criminal' face. Some cop with a M-16 came frisking my shorts. Wtf.

After that we were given a RFID tag which explains the RM20 deposit. This tag connects you direct to Facebook stating your location at the venue. It also accumulates the points you get from the games. These points were redeemed for a prize during check-out.

We were then scooted off to the bus and taken on a 2 hour journey to ... Sepang Gold Coast. Golden Palm Tree Resort.

With rooms on stilts, how can it go wrong? RM600 a night or something like that eh.

We then explored the games on the beach. The crew we were rolling with 'camped' at the Dunk Out station.

We were bound to meet 'mutual' friends at this event we figured and true enough, we bumped into a couple of macha's from the block. LOL

Then at 7pm we had a BBQ spread for dinner which was followed by the party at the main area.

The shuffling on the sand began. LMAO. Hoping that the dude that video-ed us don't post anything up. :p

I was at CJ's last night for Quiz Night with Pizza and Stout. Got whooped so let's not talk about that. (Winning team got 52 out of 60 points!! WTF?!)

Instead of going home we decided to sit through one set of Rafique Rashid. The dude is an old timer who hasn't played a gig in a while. Also a fellow La Sallian! Cheer! Cheer!Amazing!

Rafique hasn't lost his touch that's for sure. Crowd engaging and truly an entertainer. Check out his version of 'Lola' which he renamed 'Yoga' and also his tribute to 'Samy Velu'. Every Tuesday @ CJ's 9.30pm.

Stouxingers are a 6-piece Acapella band from Leipzig, Germany who recently performed at the Penang Jazz Festival last weekend. They came by CJ's yesterday to show some support for Rafique.

What is it about Mondays that makes you just cringe when your alarm goes off in the morning? Grr.

Went out last night to Sid's planning to watch the game but buggers said they were closing at 1am so buggered off to Picadily. (No, it's not the tea dance place near Atria where all the PJ kids used to go too)

RM50 for a freaking Carlsberg tower! Cheap or what!? But after drinking it, you'd know why it's that cheap. One comment on foursquare says it all "Don't order the Tower. The beer is mixed with water" Adui.

RM28 a bucket of Carlsberg / Tiger was the way to go forward then. Watched the Reds win a scrappy but I think deserved win. Maxi scored (finally) and 3 points in the bag. Relegation what? :P

Got home at like 3am. Woke at 6am. Office at 8ish am. Don't know how I'm still awake at my desk.

Finally. A spirited display by the boys in Red! 2 - 1 win over Blackburn is (I hope) the spark to kick start our freaking season. Another plus point was Torres is back on the score sheet! We love our #9.

Been a damn bloody long week. Work overload this week but still managed to meet up with Alex and Elin on Wednesday night before they fly off to Australia today.

Wednesday Night was mental...
Lava Bar - Soft Launch but no free drinks :P Place was packed. Lots of familiar faces. Had 3 beers only because it was too loud and we couldn't hear each other so off to Bakita.

Had 1 cider and 2 beers before they got hungry. I told them "Eaters, Cheaters" but they didn't buy it. Off to Healy Mac's then. Every Thursday, Stout promo RM25 for 2 stouts so no prizes for guessing what I had.

Stomachs full and dancing shoes on, we headed to Zouk. Mambo Jumbo. Been ages since I last went. Crowd has lessen significantly but the music was still rocking. Ask yourself "When was the last time I heard Color Me Badd?" LOL

Died on Thursday. Period.

Friday is always good for one thing. Free beer. The office gets two crates of beers every Friday so no worries of getting stuck in the stupid KL jam trying to go to a Happy Hour joint.

Halloween party. Got randomly placed in a group that has the "Wrong Gender" theme which means males come as drag queens and females comes as male pimps.

HELP! What the heck do I wear? Going without a costume will result in punishment which I'll gladly accept (alcohol I hope) however, my group leader has already called for a group meeting meaning everyone WILL have to dress up.

No, not Malaysia obviously but Spain! Predicted that they would go all the way and they did just that. Showing great character to become the second team to lose a group game and go all the way to win the Cup. (Germany was the first in 1954)

The critics were out after the 1-0 loss to the Swiss but wins against Honduras and Chile secured top spot in the group and put them right back on track.

The Barca-style game that they played proved too much for their opponents; Germany included. Germany thumped England and Argentina but had no answer for the Tiki and Taka show (Xavi & Iniesta).

The question now is will Del Bosque remain as coach and will the Spanish dominance continue till the Euro 2012? The future looks bright for Spain with Pedro, Fabregas and Navas coming through the ranks.

The biggest threat no doubt will be the Germans with their relatively young squad with Basti, Lahm, Ozil and Mueller being key performers. Much will depend too if Loew stays.

Spare a thought for the Dutch though. They were unbeaten till the finals with Sneijder and Robben carrying the team. This will probably be their last tournament and they should leave with their heads high. Perhaps the Dutch deserve the tag of being the "best team NOT to win the World Cup".

I predict that one of the finalist for this year's world cup is going to be either Brazil or Holland. No disrespect to Uruguay or Ghana who are grouped together in the top half of the quarter-final draw but these two teams have been grinding out results despite not producing their best form.

It's a pity that Brazil and Holland are to meet in the quarter-finals instead of the semi-final though.

Match prediction? Holland to go through 2-1. Robben and Van Persie to hit back after Robinho puts Brazil in the lead.

p.s. World Cup 2014 in Brazil anyone? :)

This is a must watch. I must thank my dvd peddler for this.

I stumbled upon when he said "take 3 more I give you discount!" .. and then threw this dvd upon me. "This one good, some say true story. This last copy. Faster take la".

Spike Lee did good

The movie is based on a true story about a predominantly black soldier regiment during the World War 2. The 92nd Buffalo Soldier Division who are stationed in Tuscany, Italy are ambushed while trying to cross over to the German side of the river.

4 members of that division make it across. Stamps, Negron, Bishop and Train; each with a different perspective on the war.

Stamps is your leader and naturally the one who is up tight and wants things done right. Bishop couldn't give a crap about the war and just wants to go home. Alive.

Train, Bishop, Stamps and Negron

Negron is the Puerto Rican communications officer and Train is a big giant who is carrying an Italian statue head for good luck.

The four befriend a young Italian boy on the run and end up in a village where the rest of the story plays out. Telling you more would ruin the story.

Valentina Cervi plays the only notable female role in the movie if you were wondering if there were any eye-candy.

This post is about number 3. I swear it is super tasty and makes my mouth just water even thinking about it. Oh and it taste even better after a couple of drinks. My friends and I can vouch for that.

It is basically a dish where the noodles is boiled in a herbal tasting soup and is served with pork, duck, half boiled eggs, preserved salted vegetables and whatever else you feel like that is available.

Nasi Ambang

One of the many things I'll miss when I leave JB is the Nasi Ambang at Bandar Baru Uda or more specifically at Mat's Corner! (pic a bit blurry because was taken before we ate so Adrian's hand was shaky due to hunger)

For those who haven't heard of Nasi Ambang, it is a speciality of Malay kampung folk of Javanese ethnic origin. It is basically plain rice with portions of beef rendang or chicken, tempe (a mix of vegetables and soybean cake), serunding kelapa (fried grated coconut), salted fish and sambal belacan (pounded chilli and prawn paste), all served on a piece of banana leaf.

They are only open during lunch and open at around 11ish and everyday by 2pm it's all sold. Every last chicken or beef, gone. Thank you Becky for introducing me to Nasi Ambang!

Bodyguards & Assassins

It's been a while since i watched a Chinese movie so maybe i'm over-hyping this movie a bit but it sure rocked for me.

Bodyguards & Assassins is set in Hong Kong at 1906 during the beginning of revolution to topple the Qing Dynasty. Although some of the fight scenes reminded me of those Tamil movies where the hero can kill an entire army, it did have a sense of realism in it.

The one scene where the "Beggar" thwarted 50 assassins with his Chinese fan was a bit over though. He seemed more like Ken / Ryu from Street Fighter.

Donnie Yen was good playing this gambling addicted cop who turns over a new leaf after finding out he has a daughter he didn't know about.

Ok no more spoiling the movie for those who haven't seen it. My two cents are it's definitely worth the 2hours despite the fact i was high on meds.

I think I've finally embracing my age. When I turned 30 and 31, I still felt like life was not ever gonna slow me down. Ever since the beginning of this year though, it's been dawning on me that I can't do this anymore. The late nights and everything that comes with it is getting real taxing.

Drinking at times has become a chore. Could one actually go out with friends and NOT drink? Possible I guess but do-able I doubt. Staying home sounds a much safer option if I don't plan on drinking.

This taxi driver I took from the ariport yesterday told me I looked 25, and so when I told him I was 32, he asked me to get married! I said "How you know i'm not married?" He said "No ring and you come back from Bali alone must be single la"

Er. Fair enough i guess. I don't believe there is a sell-by date to get married but it's daunting when people around you are getting married. An ex-girlfriend getting married in July. Two other friends getting hitched in December.

Expect much more wedding invitations this year I do. Hopefully by July I'll be back in KL for good. *fingers crossed*

It's about that time now to drive back the lonely drive to JB. Gah.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Time to fucking party. This week has been nothing but boring and alcohol-free. Singapore brace yourself I'm coming!!!

DJ Nash is spinning tomorrow night at 7 Ate Nine (near Esplande or Marina Bay i thinks) so being the eager beavers we're going tonight to check the 'venue' out.

In exactly an hour's time, i'll be heading to the Zon Duty Free area where Nash and Angelo are putting up to start the boozing. RM3 for a cold chilled Tiger can sounds good for starters no?

By 7pm I think we should be ready to roll our asses over to Singapore. Only concern i have here is "Who the heck is Driving?" LMAO. I'm so gonna get wasted tonight and tommorrow.

By 9pm (budget us getting lost in Singapore and buying booze at 7-11), we should reach the 'venue'. Hopefully, since Nash is spinning tomorrow, they would like give us some drinks. *fingers crossed*

I'm gonna be smiling the whole week after last night's game. We controlled, outplayed and demolished Man U 2-0 at Anfield.

I think this win will whipped our season back into action. We needed this game and we played like we really wanted it. Now all we have to do is to maintain this same intensity and form throughout the season. 28 games more huh?

We went into yesterday's game on a 4-game losing streak but the gut feeling i had going into this crunching tie was that we will not be beat. Apparently Rafa shared my confidence. Rafa: "From the keeper to the last fan on the Kop, we were not going to be beaten."

Torres once again proved why he is the best striker in the game. Easily beating the England centerback named Rio, he slotted the ball past Van Der Sar who by the way was the only reason it was 0-0 at halftime.

Vidic kept his consistent record of getting a red card whenever he plays Liverpool by getting sent off in injury time. To make things even, Mascherano decided to join him and got a red card of his own. Red Card score stands at Vidic 3 Mascherano 2. *looks like Man U did come out tops in one category*

When Ngog sealed the win in the 6th minute of injury time, there was only one thing left to do. Text messages my fellow Reds all over the world!!! We've made it three wins on the trot versus our fiercest rivals and it was time to celebrate.

Bali - Tanah Lot

We made a trip to Tanah Lot which is approximately 1-2 hours from where we were. I was hungover so slept most of the journey so can't really tell exactly how long it took.

Tanah Lot translated means "Land in the Middle of the Sea" in Balinese. *Ahem i'm half Balinese now ok?" It's a temple that sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.

When it's low tide, you can walk into the temple and basically walk around but at around 6pm which is nearly sunset the tide rises and thus if you want to get into the temple you have to swim instead.

It's renowned as a popular tourist spot. Naturally, as tourist we did the picture taking and sit at the Sunset Cafe and watch the sunset. Lovely. It was worth the massive hangover i was having.

Flew in from JB on Friday morning. Family finally arrived by lunch time. Everyone flew AirAsia as my brother decided to 'donate' tickets for everyone. He flys for AirAsia so free la.

Friday dinner was good. It was at this Kampung Nelayan place. I stuffed myself. Don't eat crabs so can't comment if the Chili Crabs were any good.

Headed back to the service apartment to change and then to BarSu at 12.30am. Mumbo Jumbo Night it was!!! Didn't bring my camera so no pictures yeah ;)

Saturday was tiring. Headed out to the three islands namely, Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi for some snorkeling action. Got 'poked' by this trigger fish buggers. Still got marks on me to show it.

Family decided to go to 1 Borneo for dinner so i opt out and went to meet my adopted family in KK which is MJ's sister Beverly and family.

I actually thought it would be hard spotting them but when i saw two adults and two cute little kids dressed in Liverpool colors I knew i was home! :D

I'm definitely meeting up with them again next time i go back! Trinity (the little girl) sang "My Liverpool" and Aidan was amazed by my goatee!!! Awww...*touches heart*

Watched football for a bit then headed back to BarSu. Philip coincidentally was there for work from KL as well so when Mama and Papa Whale get together all hell breaks loose.

This time tomorrow i'll be in KK. Yahooooooooooooo. The mere fact that i'm going on a holiday is enough to put in a good mood.

My flight out of JB which was suppose to be at 6.20pm is now 7.10am!!! Need to apply another half day leave!!! Thanks.

My flight back to JB was suppose to be Sunday at 9.10pm but it's now at 9.20am!!! Thanks.

Which means;

1. I can't go RAFTING!!! Was looking forward to it.
2. Can't party all out on Saturday night. Looks like that 'date' i got planned has to end early.
3. I come back to JB on Sunday and do nothing.

The month of August looks pretty busy.

Aug 14-16
Flying to Kota Kinabalu for a family trip. Haven't had one of these in ages. This time almost all the 'young ones' are old enough to party so i shall promise awesome pics.

Did i mention we're going snorkeling, partying, rafting, partying and partying?

Aug 21-22
Most likely KL because Ashton is coming from London and Ali from Toronto. Friends that i've met online but great people why not eh? Besides never know i might be going over and would need friends over there ainnit!

Aug 27 - Sept 2
BALI!!!! About time too. I thought it would never come. I've been to Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, China and India but never Bali. Can't bloody wait.

Things to do in Bali:

1. Get a surf board and fucking surf the waves.
2. Find that club with a bungee jump and do it. Sober or else i'll throw up.
3. Visit historical places :D
4. Party till 6am with random strangers.
5. Not sure if i should find myself some Shrooms. Got location and price already.

Friday

Aaron's birthday party at La Bodega Bangsar.

Decided to drive up and surprise Aaron only on the day before which meant i had to rush to get a gift. Figured what better gift than alcohol, so got him a Glenlivet 12 years. Much to my disbelieve the bottle is still not opened! (First time for us alcoholics)

Anyways, reached KL at 8-ish and didn't know where or what to do since no one knew i was coming back so decided to go 'home'. Cobra Club (Home of Liverpool Supporters Club Malaysia) and had a jug of Carlsberg!

Left after that to Bodega and met Aaron and Mette who were the only ones there at 10pm. Typical Malaysians LOL. Timing is never one of our virtues.

On a more personal note, Mette is leaving back to Denmark to study on the 15th of August (i think) and damn i'm gonna miss her. Her farewell party is this weekend but i really can't afford to drive up and down again. Too taxing and i'm still not well from last weekend.

Mette, my promise to you will be that i make it over to Denmark to visit you and then you can happily play match maker for me! Love ya and gonna miss ya loads Kusine.

26 July 2009 - Liverpool vs Singapore @ Kallang National Stadium.

We had some technical difficulties whilst trying to get into Singapore (car issue). It eventually took us almost 90mins to reach the stadium BECAUSE we had to go into Singapore and then get kicked out and then to go back into Singapore with a different car. *high stress point*

Stress!!!

But was it worth it? HELL YEAH!!!

The atmosphere was electrifying. The crowd was there by 4pm and the KOP End was already filled to the brim an hour before kick-off. Imagine waves and waves of people dressed in red all walking towards the stadium. Bliss.

Pre-game Mexican wave served with beers set the stage for the game. Right before the game kicked-off they played our anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone". The whole stadium stood and sang every word of the song. My hair literally stood. I would never trade that moment for anything in the world.

Eventually the game did start and we never knew time 90mins could just fly by so fast. Before we knew it, it was the end of the game and the score board read 5-0. Voronin, Riera, Nemeth (2), Torres scored to cap off Liverpool's first pre-season tour win.

Being KOP-ites, hardly anyone left till the Liverpool players did a lap around the stadium. We saluted, applauded and sang songs as the players walked by the KOP End.

I must say that if Xavi Alonso didn't know before this, he knows now for sure that he is much loved by his Asian fans!!!

To my fellow KOP-ites; Papi, Limbo, Botak and Mental!!! You guys rock! Thank you for being part of this experience with me. We are Red and we are proud.

No. No. Not me but the movie.

I was expecting a mediocre movie of sorts since the cast what a relatively unknown Idris Elba (from American Gangster cast), Beyonce and Ali Larter (drools) but much to surprise it was not bad.

This movie kind of reminded me how psychotic some people can be. Ali Larter honestly pulls off her role brilliantly. I mean with those legs she can pull mostly anything off.

Beyonce was so-so in her first 'real' movie role. I waited to the end to see if she would burst out in song and thankfully she didn't! LOL

I enjoyed it. It is somehow freaky that i could relate to it in a way but i guess that boils down to my past relationships. I don't want to spoil it but revealing details but do watch it if you got nothing else to do.

I won't rate it because i don't get paid for watching movies although i wish i did.

Watched MJ's memorial last night. It was certainly moving and did give me goosebumps. Stevie Wonder's song was chilling to say the least.

Teared when they sang We Are The World and Heal The World. You see, I grew up with his music. I even watched him live in KL during his Dangerous Tour.

It's been two weeks. Let the man rest in peace. He deserves it.

Have you imagined how your funeral would be like? I know I have.

I've been having weird dreams of late. Got robbed, held ransom, slashed and basically the works so planning my funeral doesn't sound like a bad plan. Maybe it is also partially due to the global mourning for MJ's death that caused my thoughts to linger.

I've pictured my funeral to be a happy occasion. An occasion to celebrate the life that we had and reminisce the good times. *Note to self to include funds for a party at my funeral in my will*

The Spainish are in a major tournament final for the first time in 24 years. Deservingly though. I reckon they should go on and win something for the first time against the gritty Germans. Won't be easy but i predict a 3-2 scoreline.
