Camwhoring?

What's with camwhoring? X-fresh Camwhoring competition seems to be the topic on most people's blogs. How many pictures of yourself posing can you take? Don't get me wrong by all means PLEASE go ahead and vogue. Think i'll probably register with X-fresh just to check out the pictures.

Yes, i'm not shy to admit that i like to look at pictures of people who like to camwhore. One can always claim they are camwhoring for the prizes but they really do dig it.

Are there male camwhores? I have no idea but after reading Ing Hui's site i found out there is at least one! Quite funny if you read the rebuttal from the Bryan dude.

I say let the whoring begin! :D

Couple of pics from Farah's camera. Think it was Laundry on a Saturday night.

Got a new toy as well which will result in more pictures. Let's call it a belated birthday present.

Did this Lord of the Rings survey thingy. I'm Legolas!? Like seriously do i look like someone who can live forever? Or even shoot straight? I can't even walk straight on most nights. It beats being Frodo though :D

The Namesake

Ever had one of those days when you just feel like shutting yourself off from the world? I've been having those kinda days lately. What i'll give to be whisked away to a secluded island with no contact with the outside world. *tension*

*ok enough whining*

I just finish reading this book by Jhumptha Lahiri called 'The Namesake'. It's about this son of an imigrant called Gogol. He was named after Nikolay Gogol, a Russian author.

Well, much to my suprise I found out that Director Mira Nair ('Monsoon Wedding') decided to adapt this novel into a movie. In fact it premiered on September 11 (ironic eh?) in Toronto.

This ain't a love story. This ain't a happy-ever-after story. This ain't those feel good movies. This novel is about the truth and the obstacles and challenges that life throws at us. I would recommend a read if you're free or better still watch the movie! The Namesake

Better get back to my next book. 'Bangkok Tattoo'

Busy busy busy

Okay, was suppose to post The Weekender Part 2 but waiting for some pictures. I didn't end up in KL Tower but went to Laundry and had 6 bottles instead. *crawled home*

Quite a busy week so far;

Monday - Dinner @ Checkers, Hartamas. Awesome mutton curry with bread goes well with beer or stout!

Tuesday - Dunhill's 101 East Anniversary. Located along Jalan Bukit Bintang. Joanne Kam Poh Poh and Attila were present. Had fun especially since the waiters were so eager to fill up my glass with Whiskey Water.

Wed - Slept the whole bloody day. Detox?

Thur - Laundry again. Project Bazooka and yeah One Buck Short really rocked the house. Have to make Thursday's at Laundry a weekly event.

TODAY - Got a gathering in Atrium in 20 mins time! Plus got some friends from Finland who are down. Reservations at Poppy. All i'm waiting for is a call from Aaron at 10pm.

In the meantime, I think i'll go get some grub. Have a great weekend people!

~When in doubt, have a stout!~

The Weekender Part 1

Weekend's over. The all too familiar routine presided again.

Friday night picked TJ up and headed to Citron Cafe down in Eaton Road. Felt the need to check it out. The Carlsberd Tempation party. Isabel or was it Maggie that invited us down.

The Invite

Bumped into lot of familiar faces. The twins (Kheng & Leong) were there with mum and cousins in tow. They pratically took up an entire canopy! :) Hahah .. but still chilled with them.

Claire, Julie, Terri, Diane, Nain & Adeline (this chick who recognizes me because i used to hang with Shaul alot. Huh!?) were there too.

Party Dress Code: seductive. Kheng was saying that maybe the invitation should have came with examples of how to dress but then again we were flying by that time to actually make that comment.

Seductive?

The music was good and with the party dwindling down at 1am it was time to decide the next location.

Suggestion #1 : Poppy (Raymond was there)

Suggestion #2 : Cynna (Tj's 'friends' were there)

Suggestion #3 : Laundry (Oliver and gang were there)

Ended up at Laundry because and i repeat it's only because TJ had a 9am appointment! Would have prefered either #1 or #2 though.

Turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Almost the whole of KL got raided that nite. Cheers to your 9am appointment!

After Laundry went to meet up with Nico and gang at Hartamas. Big mistake! Eventually got home at 7.45am due to massive alcohol intake plus had some suckers who wanted to play pool for cash :)

To be continued with Saturday's nocturnal activities....

Love or Lust?

How does one draw the line between love and lust? Is it even possible to draw the line? Does lust come first then love? And what if that love fades and turns back into lust? *Confusing myself*

Carmen Electra - Lust?

Jessica Alba - Love?

Ahem, well that's my personal opinion anyway.

Back to the topic.

I asked a couple of people if there could tell me the difference between lust and love and the most common answers I got were;

"The difference ah? Like this la, if you see a hot girl you sure wanna get to know her rite? So initially it because you lust for her la but then once you get to know her more intimately and you like her then become love la!"

And the another common answer I got was;

Simple la brother, lust when the only feelings you got for this person is sexual and love is simply more than sexual la....*Then proceeds to knock me on my head as if his statement was somewhere in hiding my mind!*

I think the line between lust and love is really thin. It's up to the individual really and the emotional and physical state he is in. When induced with alcohol it's practically impossible not to love and lust at the same time.

Angelina - Love or Lust?

On another note, there is this petition going around gathering support from the 'Rakyat' for stiffer punishment for rapist in Malaysia. Towards a Safer Malaysia. Do your bit as a 'Rakyat Malaysia'

Enough of love, lust and punishment for rapist. It's halfway to the weekend!

Why can't we be friends?

I spent almost the entire day today just surfing through the millions of blogs. Yes, i have the flu and therefore was incapable of doing anything useful ok? (I did get my car repaired so that evens it out)

Browsing through these blogs though i realize that not everyone is as different as they think they are from each other. Pushing aside religion, gender and racial differences and also not taking into account the opinions of those which border towards lunancy, I'd say people generally think and feel alike.

I mean most of the blogs had least a tribute of some sort towards the death of Steve Irwin. And there were also multiple posts remembering the whole September 11th tragedy.

Yet why is it that when you turn on the news or read the paper you can't help but to feel this world has so much hatred and anger that is waiting to be unleashed.Hey, I'm not preaching for World Peace here (everytime i hear 'World Peace' i think of Miss Congenality. WHY?!)

I'm just saying why can't we all get along? Can't everyone just make love not war? Get high and be happy? Bring back the 70's minus the Vietnam war!

It's just depressing sometimes when all you read in the papers is stuff about people dying, starving, getting diseases and shit. I don't know really what i'm rambling about but i guess after reading loads of blogs and then reading the newspapers and then watching CNN the way this world is, just gets me down.

Here's to making the world a better place.

~Still on a medicine high~

Boredom sets in

Sleepy as hell. Could only sleep like at 5am and had to wake up by 9.30 to send my mum to work and my car to the workshop.

Brake lining gone. As in totally gone! Thankfully the damage has been undone and it's safe to ride in my car again. It sounded like a motorboat stuck in a low-tide area before this.

On another note, finally got some pictures which were taken in the past one month. Notably @ Atrium, TSB and Eskimo Joy in JB.

Atrium with the boys

Atrium's cool to hang out preferably weekends mostly since they play quite good house music and the people there are pretty friendly too. Nice Heineken sponsored bar and a real cosy GreyGoose Vodka lounge area upstairs.

TSB with the 'same' boys!

The drink that Amos is holding is a Seabreeze. Goes down like water but hits you real bad. It's a nasty Vodka concoction. Try it.

Eskimo Joy with JD Promoters

This EskimoJoy place is pretty much the biggest the clubbing scene in JB gets. It kind of reminds me of Arena, Boom Boom (upstairs) and DV8 rolled into one. Max capacity - 2000 pax.

Who the hell takes pictures like these?

Yawn. That's it i'm getting some shut-eye.

~More orange juice and flu pills~

Lights will guide you home..

Damn, i really hate getting the flu.

Can't sleep because you're sneezing non-stop. Can't breath properly because your nose is blocked. Can't finish one sentence without a sneeze in between.

Sheesh.

Did anyone get this 'Save the World Party' email? Apparently Arts + Earth are trying to raise donations for the River Care Fund. Event 12 Sept @ Maison. Minimum donation of RM15 at the door.

The 'party' invites guest to come dress as superheroes. You know the 'Save the World'-thingy and 'With great power comes great responsibility'

By the way, those of who thinking about dressing up as a villian, No Chance of entry! Hey, the email says so. If one does end up going which i highly doubt due to this flu, what superhero outfit does one choose?

Superman? Nah. Don't have red undies.

Spiderman? Nope. Btw, does Spidey drink with or without his mask on?

Batman? You crazy ah! A cape and a mask? I'm bound to lose both during the course of the night. Plus would you trust your Bat-Mobile with the Valet?

Wolverine? Too yellow.

Daredevil? Too red.

Gambit? Carrying cards into a nightclub? Just inviting trouble. But...

once you've decided on one then what? There aren't many places where you could find a costume are there? Sure there is one in Hartamas but 'Superhero' costumes ada ke?

Which takes us back to square one, how do you expect people to come dress in costumes when there isn't enough supply to cater for the demand?

I'll try to find out if the majority did turn up in costumes. Highly doubt this flu gonna make me go out though. Have a great week!

God, I really talk nonsense when i'm high on medicine.

Prices gone up

Great. Walked into the friendly neighbourhood 7-11 and the dude behind the counter goes 'Dah naik harga la bang!' Wtf? Pack of 20's cost RM7.40 now. Bravo. I remember during my HELP days it used to be RM3.60!

Naturally, being curious i walked to the booze section and true enough everything's gone up. I might be wrong because the last time i walked into 7-11 i wasn't sober to remember the price when i paid.

On another more happier note, Sasha Cohen's done it again. After his successful Ali G interviews and the Ali G movie he's done another movie with Borat. I'm sure those who've watched Ali G, remember Borat from Kazakzthan. Jagshemesh!

The movie should be out by fall 2006 in the US.

Footie talk, I have to congratulate West Ham United on getting both Tevez and Mascherano before the transfer market closed. I was really in disbelieve because Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man U were after both these players.

This should prove exciting for the Hammers. And for those who loved 'Green Street Hooligans' it's time to start Blowing bubbles in the wind

Two Argies in London

I didn't even think that friendly was one of my key attributes! LOL I've been told i've got a 'lansi' face so might as well go along with it right?

Not suprised no one thought i was religious. Anyways, it did sort of pull the spirits up a bit. Have a great weekend people. Time for me to go find John.
