Quarter Finals Time

In order of the games,

Germany with their Polish strike-force of Klose and Podolski should make the game tonight a cracker tonight and I'm thinking it's gonna be down to penalties with Ballack missing the crucial one! Cruel cruel world aint it.

Argentina should start Messi but i think Pekerman has enough talent in his team to beat the host. The German defence hasn't really been tested so far. Argentina by penalties. *Fingers crossed*

The 'diving' Italians should just knocked out the equally boring Ukrainians. No De Rossi and no Materrazzi and not many goals but hey it's Italy! I say 1-0? Diving alert!

Besides Shevchenko there is no one. Which makes Ukraine really a one man team. Sure Rebrov and Kalin-something-ko can pull a few strings but at this stage you need more than that. Will make Italy sweat though. To lose but one goal.

England.. tsk tsk .. Winning ugly. Rio & John Terry need to wake up or else Pauleta and co will bury them. Rooney needs to show why he's so highly rated. I think this game is the toughest to call so whoever scores first LOSES.

Portugal without Deco? Is Figo too old to run the midfield? Ronaldo to play? Sheesh, i really don't like the drama which Portugal bring. Nevertheless, Scolari has made them into a formidable team. Diving alert!

Brazil the reigning champions to go out at the Quarters! They seem to be firing on all guns at the moment but haven't met a team with a respectable strike-force. Calling all Brazil fans place your bets! LOL

France will make the most of their ageing squad and punish the Brazilian defence. (That's what i'm hoping la!) Vieira and Henry to score. France 2-1 and Mrs. Barthez below will be all smiles!

In conclusion, Argentina vs Italy and England/Portugal vs France.

On an ending note, spare a thought for the African and Asian teams whom didn't make it this far. Only Ghana made it to the second round and went out fighting. Perhaps the next World Cup will see an African team in the semis? Korea were the best placed Asian team and perhaps with Australia joining AFC we won't have that many big losses in the future (Think Saudi 8-0 (2002) in Asia!)

Friday Plans

Mark and his crew are organizing a 'Jack Daniel's Soccer Mania Party' in Ivy tommorrow. I'm thinking i'll drop by and catch the game there. Don't know think there is time to gather a group and meet anywhere else.

The Crew

Venue: The Ivy, Heritage Row
Time: 9.00 pm onwards
Live screening of 'Argentina vs Germany
*Games and prizes ...

The usual party scene i guess. Hmmm .. i so feel like having a nice cold beer right now. Arghh .. that's it i'm going for one!!!

~Happy Belated Bday Ryan & Happy Bday Raymond...CHEERS!!!~

And the beat goes on ..

Apparently, Ruums has been getting hold of alot of events lately. Same old theory of a new club opening and grabbing the easily swayed clubbers? They had the Guinness Black Party earlier this month.

Then last weekend Heineken threw a party at Ruums (Bass Agents was down for Hotlink right?)

Bass Agents again?

Maybe that's why Juice has decided to throw their Anniversary party there as well. Get this; you gotta bring a banana to enter! LOL

Bananas & Hats?

Guinness, Heineken & Carlsberg. Looks like someone did their promotion pretty well then. I, myself have not been to Ruums so can't say if it's really the place that's drawing people.

On another note, I've been to Chivas parties, 'Friends with JD' parties but always wondered how come Johnnie Walker didn't do anything? (Maybe I don't know if they did)

Think my thoughts got somehow interpreted and i got an invite via email today from Mr.Johnnie himself.

Another Space-based theme?

Unfortunately, the venue for the event is not in Genting, Cyberjaya or A'Famosa but Q-Bar Sunway instead. Sometime in the middle of July i think. Will update more on this party once i actually go for it.

Also haven't been for Mambo Jumbo in a while as well. Tribute to Madonna? Will they be having the 'Material Girl' look-a-likes?

Thursday work? Sigh

Remember 86?

It's 1986 re-visited .. France vs Brazil meet in the Quarter-Finals . Back then it was Zico vs Platini, now it's Ronaldinho vs Zidane. Nevermind, i'm just counting down to the last 8 games. SIGH

Goal #1

Goal #2

Let the Party Begin

I say bring on the Brazilians! Samba or not.

Game on Sunday 3am

On another note, got this picture off an email which sums up the feelings of most neutral football fans across the world.

The day ends

Finally this horrid day is coming to an end. Time to go home and just sleep. The bloody medication is taking it's toll anyway.

Maxi's wonder goal!

France celebrate again tonite?

OMG .. Luke called and needs help! LOL .. the things i do for friends. Hmmm is he putting petrol? :D

~High on medicine!

Spinning around

What a fu*cked up week it's been. I'm pissed off in so many ways i never knew i could be.

First and foremost, i fu*king hate people who act like they are your friend then backstab your ass once you turn around. Idiots. I've come to realize there is no point in even trying to be nice with these people anymore. Just get on with your life and don't bother me alright. Think i'm quite fed-up of all the drama.

Secondly, how can a fu*king small office have so much POLITICS?!? It makes MIC look pale in comparison. As it is the amount of work is mounting and it doesn't help if everyone is looking for fault in others. Mahai betul. Doesn't help when you're dealing with all of this with a fever does it?

Now i've got to fix my car (being a Proton!) cuz the window figured it doesn't want to come up anymore. Brakes are also almost out so lately been picking up tricks you can do with the hand-brake when required.

Anything or Anyone else wanna make my day?

On a more positive note, futsal on sunday rocked even though i only played for an hour.

France defied the odds and are playing Spain at 3am.

Argentina vs Germany is probably the final before the final.

And also Vaail came down with his wife. It's been a while since i last saw him. Good to catch up on old times as well as bitching about the present. Dang, i still lost to him in pool. See ya soon bro.

Frantic Monday

Monday is here again, DANG.

AND once again, the French has let me down. Sure they started off brilliantly, Henry cooly slotting home early in the first half.

Finally!

Then they crumbled to Korean pressure. Sigh, to make matters worse it was a Man Utd player that had to score against arguably the worse goalkeeper in the World Cup, Mr.Barthez.

DUMB!

Now we have to pray for a miracle. Even if they make it thru it would probably be as runner up in group G with a potential clash with Spain.

Good news though is Argentina's performance. All 6 goals were scored from the penalty box. Bring on the Dutch i say! Don't mess with Messi and co.

24 Passes and a GOAL!

~Couple of Chivas & Black Label bottles and countless beers~

Wednesday, June 14, 2006

SIGH!

Dang, it was a listless performance by the French. I seriously doubt if Mr.Raymond is sane! Why couldn't he put in Trezeguet???

Why play a 4-5-1 when in the past 2/3 friendlies you played a 4-4-2? The only player who probably played well was Eric Abidal although he stupidly got a yellow card for trying to kick the ball out of the stadium and into Belgium.

Sigh, so it's 1 point and two more games to go. Koreans are gonna be hard to beat although i think we should be able to nick 3 points off Togo but weirder shit has happened right? *Think Senegal*

Anywayz, Brazil play slightly crappy kinda help ease the tension. They should have lost though. Banking on the Aussie to knock out some Brazilians. Bwek!

Kenny Sia is killer funny with his latest post Make Your Own Ball!

Like a bloody zombie now though. I just wanna sleep .........

The pre-World Cup event

It's become some sort of routine that everytime before i go outstation, I'm always head out for some drinks before i leave KL. Last Wednesday before the trip to Penang, headed to Liquid for a Carlsberg pre-World Cup event.

There wasn't really a crowd but there were games and drinks were just flowing so can't really complain much right? And Nesh was spinning great tunes as well. Think I'll just make this a picture post.

Mr Edmund can be found at Liquid during Carlsberg events.

Won a Carlsberg umbrella but chances of joining the circus don't look good

Smiling cuz Bailey's had a promotion that night. BWEK!

The fight for that last beer coupon!

Did i mention there was entertainment?

Come up to Carlsberg?

And, that was Liquid on Wednesday night (Actually, there is a bit more but i'm just too lazy right now). Thought about heading home but instead dropped by this new place in Jln Yap Kwan Seng for a bit. Omaha or was it Ohama? LOL.

At that point it didn't matter anyway. All in all it was a good night. There is more to Wednesday nights than just Mumbo Jumbo. Liquid Foam Party anyone? :p

At Omaha. Everyone's wasted.

Juz shoot em plz ..

With the World Cup around the corner, there are abundance of competitions & contests in relation to the World Cup. I just happened to kill time yesterday by taking part in a 'certain telco's' sms contest.

What really baffled me was the simplicity or rather give-away questions! Check this sms i got;

Which player was the hero for England in the 1966 World Cup?

A. Pele
B. Geoff Hurst
C. Ronaldo

Two clear cut Brazilians! Hello?! OMG. No one could be that blur to answer this wrongly right? Okay i thought that was the worse but then i got this sms;

The player to have scored in 2 World Cup Finals other than Vava and Pele?

A. Ryan Giggs
B. Paul Breitner
C. Saravanan

WOOT? I kid you not! Sara? Wicked. After that question, i just didn't bother anymore.

Sigh, on another note i'll be missing the Black Party in Ruums on the 23rd for sure now. Gonna be in Penang/Kedah sigh. Aiyoh sien already.

~Happy hours till 12midnite in Liquid!~

Tenjewberrymuds!

Check it. Got this via email.

To get the full effect, this should be read aloud. You will understand what 'tenjewberrymuds' means by the end of the conversation. This has been nominated for the best email of 2005.

The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest and room-service, at a hotel in Asia, which was recorded and published in the Far East Economic Review:

You Are 7 Up

Understated and subtle, people warm up to you slowly.
But once they're hooked, they can't imagine going back to anyone else!

Your best soda match: Diet Coke

Stay away from: Mountain Dew

What the heck? I'm a 7 up?! My match is a diet coke and i should avoid Mountain Dew .. Hmm i wonder if there is an alcohol thingy for this? :D

Okay this rain looks scary might just shut down the entire power supply so better run!

Here we go, here we go, here we go ...

World Cup 2006

It's roughly about 100 hours to go to the start of the most important 30 days of the year. Time to get into full football crazy mode.

If you plot the results you think will happen you'll notice that the FIFA ppl don't want my two favourite teams to meet in the final, namely France & Argentina.

They are scheduled to meet in the semi's. The other semi's according to my (bold & blunt) score predictions should feature one of the two teams i hate the most, namely, Germany & Brazil.

Cruel world.

France

Hope Zidane doesn't grow old really quick in these 30 days. Praying Henry turns Arsenal magic into France fireworks and Ribery turns out to be the 'hot prospect'

Master Zizou

Apprentice Ribery?

Argentina

Riquelme stays fit throughout the tournament, Pekermen finally decides on which striker he wants to start with (make up your mind!) and that Mr Messi becomes the man.

General Roman

Private Messi

I have a suggestion. Can we start a petition to make monday's half day since the brain needs time to get back into working mode after two days of doing nothing but lazying around? Just a thought.

May-day

Not really in the mood to blog although there are many things that seem to be worth talking about. Fact that i've racked up almost 1000 frequent flyer miles in the past week is another issue by itself. At this rate i could fly to Hong Kong return for free by November.

Back in the office today but really don't feel like working at all. Got to head to Kota Bharu again tommorrow. (Thank god it's a day trip!) At this point i'll be watching World Cup games from hotel rooms. I know the opening game i'll be in Kota Bharu and i know Holland vs Argentina i'll be in Lunas!

Enough of work talk. Guinness is having a Black Party again but this time in Ruums (old Warp at Life Center) I don't even know if this Ruums is open yet! Sounds attractive enough with 4 rooms & 4 bars. Err... isn't 4 an unlucky number in Chinese? Let's hope for it's sake it doesn't end up like it's former tenants.

DV8 is re-opening for sure in the-full-of-bars/clubs-but-no-parking Heritage Row but under a different moniker though. I think it's going to be named 'Evo'. Breath of fresh air to the clubbing scene? I don't think so.

Couple of cool 4-D ads. Do we have any here?
